So you’re thinking about getting married in Italy? Might I suggest the eternally romantic and inspiring city of Florence for a Fine Art Tuscany Wedding. There’s just something about this gorgeous city that oozes romance. Perhaps it’s the history and culture, maybe it’s the food and quaint nature of the city, or perhaps it is just the way the light glows in a perfectly cinematic way as the sun sets. Whatever the reason I wanted to introduce you to this beautiful city and it’s surrounding Tuscan hills…
The inspiration behind this Fine Art Tuscany Wedding held in a historical villa in the hills above Florence is of a beautiful English rose who moved to the city of Florence with romantic ideas of living the Italian lifestyle. Unbeknownst to our Italian dreamer, it would be in this magical Tuscan city that she would meet the man of her dreams and experience a romance like no other. As our lover’s romantic journey unfolds, from first dates in front of the Cattedrale di Santa Maria del Fiore to sunset walks along the banks of the river Arno and finally an unexpected proposal at the top of the Duomo. This romantic story leads our bride to choose the historic Villa Medicea di Lilliano for her secret elopement.
The day began with Armilla Beauty styling our bride’s hair and makeup at her private villa a few minutes from the venue. It was here that we chose to have a mini boudoir shoot prior to our bride getting into her dress to show off the utterly romantic lace robe Marianna Lanzilli had designed.
Soon it was time to head to Villa Medicea di Lilliano where a beautifully rustic Italian table was set with gold tableware provided by Sugar & Spice Bakery, stunning florals from ARTEMISIA fioristi and complimentary stationery from talented stationer Ollie’s Studio. Against the backdrop of the villa’s walls was the perfect Italian tablescape with the views of the courtyard gardens.
The exquisite wedding dress and veil used for this shoot came from the wonderful designer Marianna Lanzilli with its delicate lace it looked stunning on our English rose and suited the venue and theme perfectly.
Villa Medicea di Lilliano is nestled amongst olive grows and has a beautiful outside space perfect for an outdoor wedding ceremony. We took full advantage of the beautiful gardens at the villa to capture some outdoor portraits in the amazing Tuscan light surrounded by the wonderfully kept and manicured gardens. We then headed outside the villa to the olive groves to make use of the soft golden hour light that was flooding through the branches to create sumptuously soft bridal portraits.
I can’t wait to be back in Italy very soon for a gorgeous wedding! Arrivederci…
