North Wales Engagement Shoot – Kate and Bryn

“WOW the pics are so lovely, you have done a fantastic job and we are super happy with them, we can’t thank you enough! X X” – Kate and Bryn

This past spring I had the pleasure of meeting this gorgeous pair, Kate and Bryn, for their North Wales engagement shoot. They wanted a relaxed countryside feel to their engagement session which we shot on May 29th 2016. They chose a nearby woodland park in Hawarden which perfectly reflected their relaxed, natural relationship that was so clear to see during our time together.

We had fun exploring and were even blessed with beautiful North Wales sunshine that weekend! We also included a rustic bouquet created by the lovely Sioned of Tulipa Flowers. Just looking back on these images makes me smile, it’s always so lovely meeting my couples before their big day at their engagement sessions.

As a bride first and photographer second I completely understand the importance of an engagement shoot from not having one myself! I was a very nervous bride in front of the camera and realised during our wedding day how much an engagement shoot would have helped my nerves on the big day. Sadly it was too late then (but our wonderful photographer did an amazing job of making me feel at ease) but I learnt the best lesson which I can now pass on to my lovely couples.

Have you considered and engagement shoot before your big day?

Here are a few top tips to keep in mind…

1. I encourage you to chose a location that helps tell your story, even better if the location has a breathtaking view and sunset, this will deliver amazing light that will make your images extra special.

2. Taking the time to carefully choose your outfits for the shoot will also add massively to the end result. Leaving you with images you’ll want to hang on the walls of your home.

3. I also heavily encourage my bride to-be to have a hair and make-up trial, not only will you get a real feel for your wedding day look but you’ll also be able to make the most of looking extra special!
